A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOWAR) | Sarah J. Maas | Book Review

“I realized then that the color of death, of sorrow, was white. The lack of color. Of vibrancy.”

ACOWAR by Sarah J. Maas

ACOWAR, the third book in the ACOTAR series, is as exciting and amazing as the previous books are – and maybe a tad bit better. But the beginning could have been better, in my opinion. The beginning was quite predictable, even though the entire book remained a page turner.

And again the details! From character developments to their interpersonal relationships, the fighting sequences to emotional depths – everything is so beautifully executed. The writing is better and more fluid than both ACOTAR and ACOMAF, still easy to read but intense, and Rhysand’s perspective is a much needed break from Feyre’s monotonous 600 page pov.

The best part of the book is the war arc – which is absolutely brilliant, perfectly tying together everything that started in ACOTAR. But while it provides a closure in one hand, the war arc simultaneously opens a new chapter that promises to bring so many new things into the saga.

Happy Reading!
